CASTLE COMET

I first saw Comet in 1996 a few weeks after he had been Junior Champion at Clifden. It was love at first sight and I spent a long year saving up for him before returning to buy him a few days before the next Clifden show, where I watched him become Junior Champion for the second year running. His show record is unique in the Connemara world. Not only is he the only Connemara pony in history who has qualified for the Breeders Inhand Championship at Horse of the Year Show twice, he was the first native pony and only Connemara who has been Supreme Champion at Horse of the Year Show and the only stallion who has gained that title which was in 2002. He was Supreme Champion at the British Connemara Breed Show in 2000 and 2003.

Comet is loved by all that meet him for his amazing temperament, stunning movement, lovely true to type conformation and the ability to ‘charm’. His Irish character shines through. He is simply one of the most outstanding Connemara Ponies ever bred.
